INDICATION
RETIN-A MICRO (tretinoin gel) is a prescription medicine used on the skin (topical use only) to treat acne. It is not known if it is safe and effective in treating other conditions or in children under 12.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Do not get RETIN-A MICRO in your eyes, mouth, vagina or the corners of your nose. Use it exactly as directed by your doctor, and do not use more of it or more often than prescribed; it will not work any better or faster and may cause more side effects.
Before using RETIN-A MICRO, tell your doctor if you:
Have a skin condition called eczema.
Have a sunburn. You should not use RETIN-A MICRO until it has healed.
Have other medical conditions or are taking any medications, especially other acne medications, because together they may increase skin irritation.
Are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed, as it is not known whether RETIN-A MICRO can harm your unborn baby or nursing infant.
Tell your doctor about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, herbal supplements, and any skin products that you use, especially other acne treatments, including medicated cleansers or soaps, as these can increase skin irritation when used with Retin-A Micro.
While using RETIN-A MICRO, avoid washing your skin too often, avoid sunlamps, tanning beds and ultraviolet light, and minimize exposure to wind, cold and sun. If you must be in the sun, use sunscreen with SPF 15 or more and wear a hat or other protective clothing to cover the treated areas. Avoid contact with the peels of limes.
Retin-A Micro may cause serious side effects, including skin irritation. Retin-A Micro may cause skin dryness, redness, swelling, and blistering. If you develop these symptoms your doctor may change your dose or have you stop using Retin-A Micro.
The most common side effects of RETIN-A MICRO are skin burning and itching.
Tell your doctor if you have any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. These are not all the possible side effects of RETIN-A MICRO.
