If you are going to be in the sun you should use a facial cream or lotion containing a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher.

Is RETIN-A MICRO® safe?

RETIN-A MICRO® is safe when used as directed. Be sure to use the amount prescribed by your healthcare professional. Applying too much RETIN-A MICRO® will not get you better or faster results and may cause unnecessary irritation.**

When using RETIN-A MICRO®, you may briefly feel some warmth or stinging when you first apply the medication, and this is normal. The most common side effect is skin irritation, which could include mild burning, stinging, peeling, or blushing. About half of the people using RETIN-A MICRO® experience mild irritation, and if you do, it's just your skin getting used to the medication. For most, the irritation will have improved by four weeks after starting treatment. If the discomfort is a problem, talk to your healthcare professional.
Tell your healthcare professional if you are pregnant, think you are pregnant, are trying to get pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using RETIN-A MICRO®, contact your healthcare professional right away.
RETIN-A MICRO® is a topical medication. If the medication is accidentally ingested, consult your healthcare professional immediately.
