 Correct way to use

RETIN-A MICRO starts working in just two weeks, with full results after seven. It even helps prevent new breakouts. Although its exact mode of action is unknown, tretinoin is thought to loosen and expel existing acne plugs under the skin and prevent new acne lesions from forming.

Apply RETIN-A MICRO once nightly, or as directed by your doctor or dermatologist. By following these suggestions, you can maximize your results and be on your way to a clearer complexion.

Gently wash your face with a mild, non-medicated soap or cleanser, such as Neutrogena® Fresh Foaming Cleanser. Then gently pat dry with a soft towel—do not rub. Never use an alcohol-based astringent or toner after washing.

Apply one pea-sized dose to cover your entire face, avoiding the more sensitive areas around your eyes, nose and corners of the mouth. Don't spot treat pimples by putting more RETIN-A MICRO directly on them. This won't clear them up faster and could irritate your skin. Dab it on your forehead, chin and both cheeks. Spread evenly over your entire face until the medication becomes invisible.

You can use a facial cream or lotion after washing your face. During the day, it should contain a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15 or higher. Try Neutrogena® Healthy Defense® Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. Follow your doctor's advice, so you don't use a cream or lotion that can make your acne worse.

You may use cosmetics with RETIN-A MICRO. Be sure to cleanse your face before using cosmetics and then remove any cosmetics from your skin before using RETIN-A MICRO. Talk to your doctor about recommended cosmetics. Neutrogena SkinClearing® oil-free makeup is specially formulated so it won't irritate acne prone skin and contains a blemish fighter that clears up skin.

It's important to keep using RETIN-A MICRO as directed by your doctor even after your acne has cleared up. If you have any questions, please ask your doctor or pharmacist, or go back to product information. Learn how to get the best results from acne treatment with RETIN-A MICRO.
